Summer patio season is here! As a part of the Tourism Sarnia-Lambton summer students’ week, they went to check out local patios and restaurants for this week’s theme. The students’ week consisted of exploring Lambton County and the many different patios that make this county unique. The students’ took their time to showcase the restaurants’ delicious menus and the hard work that these local businesses put in to make the service, food, and atmosphere the best place for you to enjoy a summer meal.

The summer students made trips all around Lambton County, visiting places like, Ipperwash Beach Club, Grog’s Pub & Grill, The Growling Gator, Willie’s Beach Bar, Bad Dog Bar & Grill, Munchies Cafe & Grill, Dockside Restaurant & Bar, Armor’s Ale House, and many more. Along with having the best tasting food, all of these restaurants have patios that are perfect for enjoying the summertime! Each patio has different surroundings and a unique view, with special perks as well like having a waterfront view, and being dog friendly!

The summer students were also lucky enough to go to Local Wyoming, a restaurant located in the heart of Wyoming, where they have the perfect blend of comfort and fine dining. The students were welcomed into the restaurant by the friendly staff and enjoyed a mouthwatering meal. They tried the seared scallops and bacon jam, halloumi delight, wagyu steak frittes, and a poached apple dessert called queens temptation. All of the food was prepared with unique ingredients, and are locally inspired. The students also enjoyed some mocktails on their patio which was the perfect way to enjoy the summer sun.

Another place the summer students were able to sit down and eat at was The Tin Fiddler, which is also Sarnia’s only cocktail bar. The Tin Fiddler has been open for around eight years now, and it was opened to be a place where people could join together, have fun, and enjoy food and drinks staying in Sarnia. The students got to try their poke tuna stack, cauliflower kofta, fancy fries, and mac and cheese bites, which all tasted amazing. Another great thing about The Tin Fiddler is their mocktail menu! They were created to be fun for everyone, so if you aren’t planning on drinking you can enjoy a fancy drink with friends. The summer students tried the peach tea palmer, sleepy girl, and the strawberry rose sour. The Tin Fiddler also has a beautiful patio, ready for the summer season!

The summer students had such a good week being able to visit their favourite patios and even find some brand new ones they hadn’t been to yet! If you are visiting Lambton County, or you have lived here your whole life, there is always time to stop by these delicious patios and restaurants for food and drinks on a beautiful summer day.
