2008 marked the 150th anniversary of First Commercial Oil Well at this National Historic site which is the birthplace of the modern oil industry! Climate controlled 2-floor museum plus outdoor bldgs & displays, working exhibits & a wealth of petroleum industry artifacts 'show & tell' how events unfolded in this district & oil history was made. Unique history - fascinating stories - of interest for everyone! Wheelchair access main floor & outside.
