Why Croquet?

Croquet is no longer the game you may remember in Aunt Emma's backyard. It is a growing and satisfying sport, utilizing tactics and touch in equal measure. It can be enjoyed by all ages and sexes on an equal basis. Croquet combines strategy and finesse and is a bit like snooker on grass or a combination of chess and golf. It's a fantastic opportunity for couples and families to be able to challenge each other on an even footing. It really brings out the competitive nature within us. The equipment that we use is quite a bit more solid than a set you might have played with in the past. Plus we play on the flat "putting green" surface of a lawn bowling court so that shot making can be exceptionally accurate. As well as our weekly Wednesday night play, you can enter tournaments within the club and at other clubs in Ontario, and even regional, national, and world championships. Mostly it's a lot of fun and a great social night out.
